I wasn’t able to find the author of this quote but I’ve been seeing it everywhere this past week. In so many different forms, it’s been popping up here and there – so as to push me to document my thoughts on this before I forget.
This quote really resonates with me, as I’m sure it will for all of you. Sometimes, we can find ourselves focusing on just the negative parts in our lives. And, to be completely honest as always, I wanted to let you know that I have been super guilty of this. However, it is definitely something I’ve been working on. I try to remind myself of the positives each day brings me, big or small.
Like the quote suggests, I can list about 5 extremely BIG things that I wanted/prayed for/worked for that have FINALLY been brought to fruition. Some of these things I’ve waited several years for – and I can proudly say they have come true. At one point, these would keep me up at night, and lay heavily on my heart. I guess what I’m trying to say is, try to take a minute to reflect on a couple things (even if it’s just one that means a lot to you) that you prayed for a while ago, but you have in your possession now. Are you taking those things for granted just because your prayers have been answered? Or are you still waking up everyday with gratitude for them? Just a thought… 🙂
In no way am I trying to invalidate any negative experience or bad situation you are facing right now by telling you to “focus on the positive”. I know this is super difficult to actually implement in times of duress. If you are facing something difficult at the moment – I hope it all passes soon. But something that helps me during difficult times is, while waiting for it to pass, thinking about how many days and nights I have spent praying and wishing for something to come true, and how those prayers were eventually answered, even if it was much later on.
The craziest part, though, is how during those times of waiting, I never ever would have imagined they would actually come true. They literally felt like distant dreams. But, after a long time, they did come true. I like to remind myself of these instances because I can be my own example of faith during difficult times. Isn’t it so nice that you don’t have to look to someone else’s success story to source your courage? You can literally look to your own story – and see how many of your very own prayers were answered. I really hope you can recognize how inspirational your journey is…
Is there anything that you have prayed for or waited on for so many years, but is yours now? Let’s try not to forget about those blessings, big or small, and continue to appreciate them. This way, we can be reminded of how achievable our current goals and future dreams are.
With gratitude,
Snigdha

Thank you so much for reminding me about the things that I have taken for granted.. the things I once prayed for !
We should all have faith that these hard times will also go away.. 🙂
Because at the end, “there was always a tiny fragment of hope and light along with all the distress in the mysterious box of Pandora !”
Yes for sure 🙂
So true Snigdha! All my life I was praying not only for myself but for the welfare of my close family members and friends. Every single time I thought it was impossible to get out of the situation but I continued with Faith. Eventually many of those prayers were answered!!
Thank you for reminding me to be grateful and continue to keep Believing and have Faith in these tough times.
