Self-care is not selfish. It’s so important! If you, yourself, are not at peace, chances are others around you are not so happy either. When we take care of ourselves, we are better equipped to take care of others! Here are some self-care ideas to get you started:
- Put on some music and take a long shower (*one of my favorites!)
- Meditation/prayer
- Painting/Coloring (there are plenty of coloring books for adults that you can check out on Amazon!)
- Go for a walk
- Spend some time in nature
- Journal
- Enjoy a hot cup of coffee/tea
- Listen to music that puts you in a good mood
- Make a list of things you are grateful for
- Take breaks throughout the day
- Create healthy boundaries from work and toxic situations/people
- Virtual workout classes (check out the Exercise Simple app for super effective workouts that don’t require any equipment!)
- Bike with friends
- Take Buzzfeed quizzes
- Look through Pinterest for some ideas you’ve been waiting to try
- Explore Spotify and some new playlists
- Find a podcast you love and listen to it everyday
- Declutter room/closet and maybe make a donation pile
- Call/text old friends
- Go through old photo albums
- Cooking/baking
- Self-help workbooks
- Write poetry
- Read a book
- Invest in your future by learning a new skill
- Handlettering
